About this treatment
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) hair removal uses targeted light energy to permanently reduce unwanted hair — anywhere on the face or body. It's fast, effective, and delivers long-lasting results that make waxing, shaving, and threading a thing of the past.
Sessions are quick, comfortable, and require no downtime. With a course of treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart, most clients achieve significant permanent reduction — and many see complete clearance.
How It Works
IPL targets the melanin (pigment) in the hair follicle with a precise pulse of light. The energy is absorbed by the follicle, which generates heat and damages it at the root — inhibiting future growth. Because IPL only targets follicles in the active growth phase, a course of sessions is needed to catch all hairs in cycle.
IPL works best on darker hair against lighter skin. At your consultation, we assess your hair and skin type to confirm suitability and set realistic expectations. A patch test is carried out before your first session.

What to Expect
Consultation & Patch Test
We assess your hair colour, skin tone, and treatment areas to confirm suitability. A patch test is carried out 24–48 hours before your first session.
Preparation
Shave the treatment area 24 hours before your appointment. Avoid waxing, threading, or plucking for at least 4 weeks before treatment — the hair root must be present for IPL to work.
Treatment
Cooling gel is applied and the IPL handpiece is glided across the skin, delivering precise pulses of light. Sessions range from 20 minutes for small areas to 90 minutes for full body. Most clients describe the sensation as a mild snap or warmth.
The Course
Sessions are spaced 4–6 weeks apart to target each hair growth cycle. Most clients achieve significant reduction after 6 sessions, with some areas requiring up to 10. Top-up sessions can maintain results long-term.
What to Expect Afterwards
Mild redness and warmth in the treated area is normal and settles within a few hours. There is no downtime — most clients return to normal activities immediately. Avoid sun exposure, heat, and harsh products for 24–48 hours.
Treated hairs will shed over the following 1–3 weeks. This is not new growth — it's the follicle expelling the treated hair. Between sessions, shaving only (no waxing or plucking). Use SPF on treated areas if exposed to sun.

Post Treatment Expectations
IPL Hair Removal
You may notice slight redness and a warm sensation similar to sunburn for a few hours post-treatment. Hair may continue to grow before shedding over 1–2 weeks — this is normal. Multiple sessions are required for optimal hair reduction, and results will improve progressively.
Avoid sun exposure, hot showers, saunas, and vigorous exercise for 24–48 hours post-treatment. Keep the area cool and hydrated with a soothing aloe vera gel or recommended aftercare lotion. Avoid waxing or plucking, and let hairs shed naturally over the following days. Use SPF 30+ on exposed areas to prevent pigmentation.
