Botox Trowbridge: 7 Essential Things to Know Before Booking | SOMA

Is Botox Right for Me?

Everything You Need to Know Before Booking in Trowbridge

is botox right for me?

Botox in Trowbridge at SOMA Body Clinic

If you are considering Botox in Trowbridge but are not quite sure where to start, you are in good company. At SOMA Body Clinic in Trowbridge, some of the most common conversations we have are with people who are curious but want to feel fully informed before they commit to anything. So rather than a sales pitch, here is an honest, straightforward guide to everything you need to know.

What is Botox and how does it work?

Botox is the brand name for a purified form of botulinum toxin, a protein that temporarily relaxes the muscles responsible for creating expression lines and wrinkles. When injected in small, precise amounts, it softens movement in targeted areas including the forehead, between the brows, and around the eyes, so that the skin above those muscles can smooth out and rest.

It does not fill or plump the skin. It does not change your face. What it does is reduce the repetitive muscular movement that causes lines to deepen over time.

The result, when done well, is that you look like a well-rested, refreshed version of yourself. Not frozen, not surprised, just quietly better.

What areas can Botox treat?

The most commonly treated areas are:

Forehead lines: the horizontal lines that appear when you raise your eyebrows
Frown lines: the vertical lines between the brows, sometimes called the 11s
Crow’s feet: the fine lines at the corners of the eyes when you smile
Brow lift: a small amount placed strategically can lift a heavy brow
Bunny lines: the lines that appear on the nose when you scrunch it
Lip lines: very fine lines above the upper lip
Chin dimpling: smoothing an uneven or pitted chin texture

At SOMA we treat all of these, and your consultation is the right time to talk through which areas are relevant for you and what a realistic outcome looks like.

How long does Botox last?

Most people find their results last between three and six months, though this varies depending on a few factors. The area treated matters, as areas with stronger muscle movement, like the forehead, tend to metabolise the product faster. Your individual metabolism also plays a role. And interestingly, people who have regular treatments over time often find their results last longer, as the muscles gradually become less active.

After your treatment at SOMA we book a two-week review appointment as standard. This allows us to assess how you have responded and make any fine adjustments if needed.

Does Botox hurt?

Most clients are pleasantly surprised by how little discomfort there is. The needles used are very fine, much finer than a standard injection, and the treatment itself takes between 15 and 30 minutes. Most people describe it as a mild pinch at most. If you are particularly sensitive, we can apply a topical numbing cream before we begin.

There is no downtime. You can go straight back to your normal day.

How much does Botox in Trowbridge cost?

At SOMA Body Clinic, Botox starts from £100 per area. We offer single area, two area, and three area packages. Because everyone’s face is different and everyone’s goals are different, we always discuss pricing during your free consultation before any treatment is booked.

It is worth being cautious of very low prices. In the UK, Botox is a prescription-only medicine, which means by law it must be prescribed by a qualified prescriber after a face-to-face assessment. Clinics advertising Botox for £50 or £60 per area are often cutting corners on safety, qualifications, or product quality.

Is Botox safe? What should I look for in a practitioner?

When administered by a qualified practitioner using clinically approved products, Botox has an excellent safety profile. It has been used for cosmetic and medical purposes for decades and is one of the most studied aesthetic treatments available.

For general guidance on cosmetic procedures, NHS cosmetic procedures guide is a useful starting point.

What you should look for when choosing a clinic:

Qualifications: Your practitioner should hold a recognised qualification in aesthetics and be registered with a professional body. At SOMA, Rebecca Green holds full qualifications and all treatments are carried out to the highest clinical standards.

A proper consultation: A responsible clinic will never inject without a thorough consultation first. This includes a medical history review, a discussion of your goals, and an honest assessment of what Botox can and cannot achieve for you.

Prescription compliance: In the UK, botulinum toxin is a prescription-only medication. This means a prescriber must assess and prescribe before any treatment. If a clinic is offering same-day Botox without any consultation process, walk away.

Accreditation: Look for clinics registered with Save Face, the national register of accredited practitioners in the UK. SOMA is currently going through the Save Face accreditation process, which provides independent verification of clinical standards and patient safety.

Realistic expectations: A good practitioner will tell you honestly what Botox can and cannot do. If someone promises dramatic transformation or guarantees specific results, be cautious. The goal of good aesthetic practice is enhancement, not alteration.

What happens at my first Botox appointment at SOMA?

Here is exactly what to expect:

Consultation: We start by talking through your concerns, your goals, and your medical history. This is not a sales conversation. It is a clinical assessment. We want to make sure Botox is appropriate for you and that you understand the treatment fully before we proceed.

Assessment: Rebecca will assess your facial movement, skin quality, and muscle activity. She will show you which areas she recommends treating and explain the expected outcome.

Treatment: If you are happy to proceed, the injections take between 15 and 30 minutes. You will be asked to remain upright for four hours afterwards and to avoid strenuous exercise, heat, and alcohol for the rest of the day.

Two-week review: We see every client back at two weeks to check results and make any adjustments. This is included in your treatment.

How do I know if Botox is right for me?

The honest answer is that a consultation is the only way to know for certain. Every face is different, every set of concerns is different, and the right treatment plan for you depends on factors that can only be assessed in person.

What we can tell you is that Botox works best for people who want to soften dynamic lines, meaning lines that appear with movement rather than lines that are present at rest. If your lines are deep and static, other treatments like skin boosters, dermal fillers, or advanced skincare may be more appropriate, either alongside or instead of Botox.

The most important thing is that you feel informed and comfortable before anything happens. At SOMA, we never pressure anyone. If Botox is not right for you, we will tell you that, and we will suggest what is.
